About John Brookland

John Brookland
Publisher, Author & Blogger
John is now retired but having always had an interest in social history and true crime of the Victorian and Edwardian period, he now authors true crime narratives of that period through his publishing imprint Bitza Books including a series of books about a long-forgotten celebrated Edwardian Detective named Edwin Fowle of Kent County Constabulary.
He has also written about the 150 year history of a local Kent department store chain, and a book on the war horses of WW1 and several magazine articles. John has operated a popular animal welfare blog named animalrightsandwrongs.uk since 2017 with a readership in a hundred countries based on experiences during a long career in animal welfare in the UK and abroad. Why not give it a look using the link below. His first books were memoirs and autobiographies about his exploits and adventures helping animals.
John was born and brought up in Kent, a County which has remained his spiritual home although he now resides in rural Suffolk with his partner Debbie.
His books are printed and widely available from Amazon and Ingram Spark both to readers and the trade and from most online retailers and bookstores such as Waterstones, Foyles and Blackwell's.
